The Roman Way

Camulodunum Romans FC was established in 2022.

Camulodunum is the Ancient Roman name for what is now Colchester in Essex, where the team are based.

It was started by Cameron & Adrian to help people get back into football and hopefully, one day be a winning team!

If you would like to get involved all we ask is that you play like a ROMAN and give it your all.

To play like a Roman is to play with Roman virtues, those being:

As it stands we have just the one team, but our vision is to expand to a first and second team, plus an over 35’s veterans team.

Training

Camulodunum Romans train every Tuesday from 8 pm -9 pm on the floodlit Astroturf pitch at Shrub End Sports Ground, 12 Boadicea Way, Colchester CO2 9BQ. If you want to join the Romans, this is the best way to come and introduce yourself to the lads. Just let us know via email, as we book either a quarter or half pitch depending on numbers.

Home Games

Camulodunum Romans play our home matches at Shrub End Sports Ground, 12 Boadicea Way, Colchester CO2 9BQ. Games take place on one of the five grass pitches and kick-off is at 10.30 am on Sundays. So, if you want to come and cheer on the Romans you can click the upcoming fixtures button under the map for our next home game.
